About Me
Hello! I’m Daniel Taylor — Electrical Engineer, Artist, and Musician.
I live in Post Falls, Idaho and work at a local company called Itron.
I lead a group of engineers that test new electric meters like the one found on the side of your house.
Outside of work I enjoy taking art classes at NIC where I’m finishing up my 2-year degree in fine art.
It’s a wonderful school with great instructors. Drawing has been a hobby of mine since I was a child and I’d like to do some illustration work later in life.
Music is a relatively new endeavor that I started back in 2019 and am currently learning to play guitar and sing.

Major Projects
Currently at Itron I lead a team that tests electric meters to ensure there are no bugs or issues before releasing them into mass production. At HP I designed touch screen panels found on many of their high end laserjet printers. Please see the pictures below for examples of each.

For more detailed information about these projects and many of my other technical skills please see my resume below.

Art

This is my first successful abstract. It started as a cubist inspired painting with square colors in the background and a tree simplified to cylanders, cones, and circles. The rest followed and it started to take on different meaning. I knew it was a successful abstract when I wasn't entirely sure what I was looking at. What do you read out of it?

I made this as advertising art for my first video game, Mr. Blob's Honey-Do List which is now available on Steam. The idea came from seeing painterly art from other games as their concept or advertising art.

I absolutely love watercolor pencils! This entire painting is done with Derwent traditional watercolor pencils and Inktense pencils. The black on the cat is india ink.
Music
The theme of this song is two artificial life forms caught in a lover's qaurrel. The voices were created using two Moog Mother 32 units and a Behringer Neutron. The title's inspiration emerged from the blend of analog synthesis and the emotional duet of them communicating. Special thanks to Keith Stack for working with me on this.
